Celebrities Who Are Using Vapour Cigarettes

With an estimated 300,000 Brits switching to e-cigarettes over the past few years, the device has also started sweeping the celebrity world with many being 'papped' using e-cigarettes and some even putting their name to different brands for endorsement.

Introduced to the world less than a decade ago, electronic cigarettes have quickly become a multi-million pound industry as people flock to the healthier cigarette alternative as a social way to get around the smoking ban in public venues and workplaces.

Here's our list of some of the A-listers you can expect to see vaping with an e-cigarette in their mouth at various award shows:

Leonardo DiCaprio

The Hollywood heartthrob and star of some of the greatest films in recent years such as 'Inception', 'Shutter Island', 'The Departed' and 'Wolf of Wall Street', was recently seen vaping on his e-cig at this year’s Golden Globes awards. As one of Hollywood's biggest kings of cool, DiCaprio has done for vaping what Frank Sinatra did for Jack Daniels.

Kevin Connolly

As 'E', one of the stars of HBO's biggest hit TV shows 'Entourage', Kevin Connolly may have been turned on to e-cigs by DiCaprio who just so happens to be one of his best pals. The two were recently spotted pulling up to Chateau Marmont together, a popular celeb hot spot in Los Angeles, to vape the night away.

Jenny McCarthy

The former Playboy Playmate, talk show host, and beau of Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy has been one of the biggest advocates of the e-cig revolution by explaining that now her mouth doesn’t taste like an ashtray, her love life has improved and she feels better about herself. She has also gone on record as saying that e-cigs have provided her with a way to smoke without making her feel like a social outcast in New York - a city that is notoriously strict with its smoking ban.

Katherine Heigl

As one of the earliest celebrity adopters of e-cigs, Katherine Heigl famously had a few vapes of her e-cig during an interview on the David Letterman Show in 2010 - even sharing and letting the hilarious host have a few vapes too. The star of hit TV show ‘Grey's Anatomy’ and rom-coms such as ‘Knocked Up’, ‘Killers’ and ‘The Big Wedding’ hasn't stopped there though, having been snapped vaping in the back of taxis and production meetings.

Charlie Sheen

The famous Hollywood hellraiser and former star of ‘Two and a Half Men’ and classic films from the eighties and nineties such as ‘Hot Shots’, ‘Wall Street’ and ‘Platoon’, recently took up e-cigs while on the road promoting his ‘Violent Torpedo of Truth’ spoken-word-comedy tour. Looking at e-cigs as a quick and easy way to get around fines if he was caught lighting up for a smoke in any of the venues, Sheen has been so impressed with the effects that vaping has had that he has now branched out to promoting his own brand.

Robert Pattinson

Best known for playing the vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight series, Pattinson has recently branched out into more adult material such as 'Remember Me' and 'Bel Ami'. On the set of his most recent film, the dark and dramatic David Cronenberg directed masterpiece ‘Cosmopolis’ he was snapped by the paparazzi chilling out and vaping on set after a hard days shooting.

Johnny Depp

It’s unknown if Depp has ditched his trusty roll-ups for an e-cig, but he certainly had a hand in making them the most popular smoking aid in the world by using one in the 2010 film ‘The Tourist' opposite Angelina Jolie. Over the course of the film his character demonstrates how it's actually an electronic device instead of burning tobacco and even uses it to get himself out of trouble. So there you have it – e-cig’s are a multi-purpose tool!

Tom Petty

At 64 years old, Tom Petty has been a constant presence in the charts as one of America’s premier singer-songwriters, with an incredible five best-selling platinum albums under his belt. In a recent interview, the singer of hits such as Change of Heart, I Won’t Back Down, and Free Fallin’, talked about getting a little more health-conscious in his older years and how he's recently chosen to use e-cigarettes instead of the more harmful tobacco kind.
